Giving What We Can
“It's inspiring to think that we can each save tens or even hundreds of lives just by donating 10% of our income to the most cost-effective charities. Anyone who takes global poverty seriously should join Giving What We Can.”
—Peter Singer
Professor of Philosophy at Princeton

Pledge to make a difference
Giving is often easier than people think. In fact, research suggests that helping others tends to make you happier. And you’re still likely to be in the wealthiest 10% of the world population.
Give cost-effectively
Some charities can be up to 1,000 times as cost effective as others, so you can multiply the number of people you benefit through your donation.
Giving What We Can members have all made a commitment to give 10% of their income to the most cost-effective charities.
For a person earning £15,000 per year, this means saving 1.5 lives per year, or treating nearly 5,000 children per year for neglected tropical diseases.
